Emily Franklin is the author of a novel, Liner Notes (S&S) and a story collection, The Girls’ Almanac (Morrow).  She is also the author of sixteen novels for young adults, including The Half-Life of Planets, nominated for YALSA’s Best Book of the Year and Tessa Masterson Will Go to Prom, selected for the 2013 Rainbow List honoring LGBTQ issues in fiction, and The Other Half of Me, an ALA Popular Paperback Pick.  She is the editor of several anthologies, both fiction and nonfiction.  Her work has been featured on National Public Radio and published in The New York Times, and numerous literary magazines. She was long-listed for the Sunday Times EFG Award. A former chef, she is also the author of a memoir/cookbook, Too Many Cooks: Kitchen Adventures with 1 Mom, 4 Kids, and 102 New Recipes. Her latest novel, Last Night at the Circle Cinema, is a Junior Library Guild Selection, an ALAN Pick, and a Sydney Taylor Notable named by the Association of Jewish Libraries. She lives with her husband, four kids, and 165-pound dog outside of Boston.
