Sarah Bowlin

Aevitas Creative Management
Literary Agent
Sarah Bowlin joined Aevitas Creative Management as an agent in early 2017.  Before moving to agenting, she spent nearly a decade as an editor of bold voices in fiction and nonfiction, first at Riverhead Books and most recently as a senior editor at Henry Holt & Company.

She has worked with a list of acclaimed writers including the IMPAC Dublin Award-winning novelist Juan Gabriel Vásquez, the Women’s Prize-finalist Sheila Heti, whose breakout novel How Should a Person Be? became an international bestseller; the National Book Award-nominated Salvatore Scibona; Helen Phillips, whose first novel, The Beautiful Bureaucrat, was a New York Times Notable Book; and the emerging talents Kseniya Melnik, Eric Fair, Matt Sumell, Ramona Ausubel, Gabriel Urza, Aria Sloss, Rachel Khong, Julie Buntin, and many more.

As an agent, she is focused on building a list of new voices in fiction and nonfiction with an eye for stories that, regardless of genre, are dynamic and transporting.

She has a B.A. in American Literature from New York University, a Level 2 WSET certification in wine and spirits (she likes food and wine a lot), is co-producing her first documentary short (with her cousin), and serves on the advisory board of Brooklyn-based magazine Slice. Originally from the south, she recently left New York for sunny Los Angeles where she now lives with her husband and dog.
